ANTHEM RELEASE DATE, GAMEPLAY TRAILER, XBOX ONE X INFO AND ALL THE LATEST NEWS
Microsoft has revealed fresh details on Bioware’s new IP Anthem and boy does it look awesome. Originally unveiled during EA’s E3 2017 press conference, Anthem is the first new IP from Bioware, the talented minds behind Mass Effect, in almost a decade, and it looks set to take full advantage of the new Xbox One X’s horsepower. It’s set to take players to a broken, battered post-apocalyptic setting filled with gnarly looking creatures.
Here to help you get all the details on the game TrustedReviews has compiled all the facts on Bioware’s newest epic.
ANTHEM – WHAT IS IT?
Anthem is an open-world RPG that takes place in a strange, hostile alien world where humanity lives in a giant walled city, hiding from giant monsters. You take the role of a Freelancer; a heroic group that act as humanity’s guardians and scouts beyond the wall in Iron Man-like suits of armour, known as Javelins.
ANTHEM RELEASE DATE – WHEN IS IT COMING OUT?
Having just been announced, Anthem won’t be coming our way for a while. EA and Bioware has said it will be launching in fiscal year 2018, which spans from April 2018 to March 2019.
Platforms also remain unconfirmed, although we do know it’ll be coming to Microsoft’s Xbox One X
ANTHEM TRAILER – HOW DOES IT LOOK?
We saw a brief teaser trailer at EA’s E3 press conference, but now we also have six minutes of gameplay to enjoy. Watch both below.
ANTHEM GAMEPLAY – HOW DOES IT PLAY?
Anthem is an open world RPG. During the Microsoft E3 2017 conference we saw you venture out of the city to find a missing group. The mission let you gather other freelancers into your squad and demoed a variety of enemies, ranging from hulking, wild alien monsters to mysterious “Scars”, which appeared more advanced and had guns.
Exact customisation and gameplay options remain vague, but Bioware has confimred you will be able to customise your Freelancer’s Javelin armour. Javelins will have differing classes, each with their own set of skills and equipment options. During the brief demo we saw Bioware demo the generalist Ranger and tank Collossus classes. Each had a variety of skills, including jump pack and grenade abilities. The demo indicated the game will have a similar control system to Mass Effect: Andromeda.
