The Walking Dead shooter project in development at Overkill has been delayed into the second half of 2018, Starbreeze has confirmed.
First announced by Starbreeze in 2014 with an impressive reveal trailer, we’ve seen little of the project in recent months beyond a few brief glimpses of gameplay.
According to the statement released by Starbreeze, the team requires more time to “expand on its original vision for the game and realize the title’s full potential.” A similar reason was given for the delay into 2017 last year.
Very little is currently known about Overkill’s The Walking Dead project beyond how it will deliver a co-op driven experience with new characters and storylines in the undead universe.
Starbreeze and Ovekill are no strangers to the world of first-person shooters, having previously worked on the hugely successful Payday 2.
Back in 2014, Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint said The Walking Dead will be the company’s “biggest endeavour to date.” No pressure, then?
