A super cheap introduction to the world of Solid State Drives.
SanDisk Plus 240GB SSD Now £54
If you know you’re going to need some extra space for games or movies, we’d recommend this deal over the smaller SSD above.
Toshiba Q300 480GB 2.5 inch SSD Now £95
This is the cheapest option for a 480GB SSD, beating the next best deal by at least £10. Prices have been going up on most drives in recent weeks, so this one may sell out fast. £95 for a 480GB SSD is not to be missed. Or you can double up with the 960GB offer below.
Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive Now £117
If you really need that extra 20GB to bump up your SSD to a nice round 500GB, then this is your cheapest option. Amazon’s latest deal is £8 cheaper than last week.
SanDisk Ultra II 960GB 2.5-inch SSD Now £183
Not the cheapest it’s been, but with other drives of this size going for over £200, this is the one to go for if you need something sooner rather than later.
3.5-inch hard drives
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5-inch Hard Drive Now £60
With most retailers charging over £70, this cheap internal drive is well worth a look if you’re wanting to upgrade the capacity on an older PC.
Toshiba P300 3TB 7200RPM 3.5-inch Hard Drive Now £71
The price for this 3TB drive is impressive enough, but the increased 7200RPM speed is another big selling point too.
Seagate ST4000DM000 4TB 3.5-inch Hard Drive Now £106
This is one of the cheapest 4TB PC hard drives we’ve seen for a while and should provide enough space for most users.
Toshiba X300 5TB 3.5-inch Extreme-Performance Hard Drive Now £131
This speedy 7200RPM hard drive is excellent value if you’re looking for a large 5TB capacity. If you need something that big though, maybe we can tempt you with the 6TB drive below for an extra £27?
Toshiba X300 6TB 3.5-inch Extreme Performance Hard Drive now £158
This is a great 6TB deal, and £30 cheaper than the best price we could find last week. 6TB seems to mark the line in the sand, with any larger drives costing disproportionately more than we feel is reasonable. If you need more than 6TB, we’d advsie waiting for prices to drop.
External hard drives
1TB Toshiba Canvio Basics Portable Hard Drive Now £45
This was £4 cheaper last week, but the standard price is still amongst the cheapest 1TB external drives around. Take your pick between this and the Amazon deal below.
Maxtor M3 1TB USB 3.0 Slimline portable hard drive Now £45
A great price for a portable drive with 1TB of space. We’d be tempted to spend an extra £15 to get an extra TB with the deal below. But if 1TB is enough, you may as well save the money.
Toshiba Canvio Connect II 2TB Hard Drive USB 3.0 Now £60
The usual Seagate 2TB drives on Amazon have shot up in price this week. Fortunately, we’ve spotted a Toshiba deal that’s considerably cheaper over at Ryman, who is offering free next day delivery on purchase of £30 or more.
Toshiba Canvio Connect II 3TB External Hard Drive Now £75
For an extra £15 over the deal above, you’d do well to grab a 3TB external hard drive for just £75. That’s £30 cheaper than Amazon’s usual price. At the time of writing, you can choose between the black, white or blue models.
Toshiba 5TB Canvio Desktop Hard Drive Now £134
So you need a lot of space, huh? Toshiba make reliable drives and keep them cheap while they’re at it, making them a regular in these parts.
Samsung 6TB D3 Station External Hard Drive Now £160
This USB 3.0 drive is one of the largest external drives out there and is nearly £25 cheaper this week.
Seagate 8TB USB 3.0 Backup Plus Desktop External Hard Drive Now £200
The 8TB drives seem to be the cutoff point before the ridiculously expensive 10TB drives, and this is the best deal we can find. £200 might sound pricey, but considering the best price for a 10TB external drive is nearly £500, we think this is pretty good.
